Production Lead

Do you take pride in organization, leadership, and hands‑on teamwork in a production environment? We’re looking for a Production Lead who thrives in a fast‑paced, physical environment and loves keeping things running like clockwork with impeccable attention to detail. If you’re the kind of person who leads by example, solves problems on the fly, and inspires others to do their best work—this might be the perfect role for you.

Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership in a hands‑on production shop environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely produce top‑quality work in an efficient manner and inspires others to do the same.
  • Competent in the safe set‑up and operation of production equipment and is a skilled operator of fork‑truck and man‑lift.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop, yard and warehouse.
  • Leads the daily production flow. Works with management and production team to set and execute a plan for the week.
  • Accurately pulls and stages parts for upcoming jobs. Double‑checks jobs pulled by others for completeness and accuracy.
  • Promotes a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Sets a positive example of professionalism, leadership, and pride in quality workmanship.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience leading daily work in a production team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to set clear expectations.
  • Skilled in safe set‑up, operation, and training of shop equipment.
  • Able to accurately count inventory, follow work orders, and read tape measures.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing LEAN practices.
  • Valid Maine driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
  • Confident and assertive leadership style that encourages safe, efficient work.
Experience and Training
  • Skilled in at least one of the three areas (wood working, welding and steel fabrication, CNC programming and operation) with ability and desire to learn the others.
  • Completion of OSHA 10‑Hour Course within 1 year of hire.
  • Comfortable with math, power tools, tape measure and hands‑on physical work. Able to lift 80 lbs. throughout the day.
