About the Role
Operate and maintain packaging equipment at 80% or more efficiency. Ensure bags and cases are sealed correctly and with proper codes displayed. Train and assist other operators in safety and operation of equipment.
What You’ll Be Doing- Conduct quality checks and record results on operator check sheet.
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove or replace defective parts.
- Ensure bags and cases are sealed correctly and with proper codes displayed.
- Implement McCain Competitive Edge and Lean Manufacturing practices relative to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (SQCDP).
- Operate forklift in accordance with company policy.
- Perform daily and downtime sanitation.
- Repair and replace defective parts using various hand tools and set up machine to test performance.
- Responsible for lubricating and cleaning equipment parts.
- Advise whether an issue is mechanical or operational – first call to evaluate problem and decide if maintenance is necessary.
- Assure all wear components are in good shape, completing wear component checklist on shift.
- Manage condition and organization of changeover parts of entire line.
- Manage stockroom issues – responsible for all consumables issued on shift for distinct line.
- Participate with maintenance in problem solving until machine is at 80% packing efficiency.
- Perform basic care maintenance on shutdowns of entire lines under direction of packaging maintenance supervisor.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn touch screen computer systems.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum six months as a poly operator.
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus.
Starting at $23.77 USD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts.
