Summary of the Role

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the plant's day-to-day manufacturing operations in Winslow. This crucial, hands‑on leadership role focuses on ensuring efficient and smooth execution across various departments. The core objective is to lead overall production and successfully meet targets while maintaining an outstanding level of safety, quality, cost, and timely delivery across the diverse product lines.

As the Operations Manager, your role encompasses comprehensive management duties, including the supervision of employees across all production and operations departments; manufacturing, maintenance, production managers and quality assurance. Success in this capacity requires a dedicated focus on people leadership, leveraging your employees’ strengths and enthusiasm to create an efficient and positive working environment. Working closely with the Human Resources Department, you will actively participate in the hiring process, managing and overseeing training, and evaluating staff to maintain a skilled workforce.

Furthermore, your ability to collaborate with departments such as the Master Scheduler, Finance, Engineering, and Human Resources will be essential to streamline operations and achieve critical organizational goals. As part of the management team, you will participate in plans to align operational activities with the company’s long‑term objectives and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards.

Is this for you?

The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing management or leadership role. While a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field is preferred, experience in operating effectively under rigid safety, quality, and environmental standards is essential. The company requires manufacturing experience in a high‑paced environment, ideally from industries like plastics manufacturing (extrusion, molding, or blow molding) or precision job shop/custom manufacturing.

You bring strong operational delivery, business acumen, people leadership, and change management competencies. You are a naturally strategic and operational thinker, possessing sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. You are comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, demanding environment, demonstrating the ability to take immediate action when needed, and provide regular, relevant metrics to management. Critically, you have a proven track record of improving the structure, workflows, and overall processes to increase the efficiency and output of an organization.

Your leadership style is characterized by excellent communication skills, with a passion for exhibiting optimism, providing vision, mentorship, and inspiration to peers and direct reports. As a hands‑on leader, you have the ability to drive performance, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and influence and champion change within a values‑driven culture.
