Welder​/Fabricator; Day Shift

Newport Industrial Fabrication is seeking experienced welders and welder/fitters to join the dayshift. Individuals will be responsible for performing steel fabrication duties such as cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, and welding of steel assemblies. Individuals are required to pass a welder qualification test to perform code-required welds.

(5) 8-hour days Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm, with overtime as needed.

$20-$25/hr starting pay based on experience.

• Interpret/understand technical drawings containing weld symbols
• Interpret/understand Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) documents
• Operating pneumatic/electric tools. (Grinder, Dynafile, impact driver, etc.)
• Operating oxy/acetylene torch and or plasma cutting equipment
• Operating small equipment. (Tractor, fork truck, etc.)
• Operating fabrication equipment. (Band Saw, Press Break, Drill Press, etc.)
• Work independently and cooperatively in an active fabrication shop environment.
• Follow shop Person Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Cross-train as needed to perform work tasks when necessary.
