Maine Democratic Party :
Field Organizer

The Maine Democratic Party (MDP) is looking for Field Organizers for this year’s Coordinated Campaign to execute daily voter outreach to help defeat Susan Collins, elect a Democratic Governor, keep ME-2 in Democratic hands, and assist legislative victories across the ballot this November. This includes knocking on doors, phone banking, and engaging community members about the stakes of the 2026 elections. No prior political or campaign experience is required—applicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to be on the front lines of one of the most important fights in the country this year. Coordinated Campaign Field Organizers will be responsible for talking directly to voters every day—by phone and at the doors. You'll be part of a hardworking, passionate team fighting for working Maine families by working in the field across your assigned region.

This job is ideal for someone with great people skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for making a difference in their community. This position reports to one of the MDP’s Regional Organizing Directors and is a full-time hourly position at 55 hours a week through the second week of November 2026.

These positions are based in Maine and require daily in-person voter contact, including knocking doors and attending local events in your assigned region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily direct voter contact through door-to-door canvassing and phone calls.
  • Meet daily and weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals for conversations and data tracking.
  • Represent the campaign in your community and serve as the face of our voter outreach program.
  • Enter data promptly and accurately after each voter interaction in-line with the best practices established by the Coordinated Campaigns senior leadership.
  • Work closely with the Field Director, your Regional Organizer and other organizers to share updates and collaborate on regional strategy.
  • Travel frequently within your assigned county and occasionally to nearby areas as needed.
  • Assist with events, visibility, and GOTV efforts as the election approaches.
Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for talking with people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to the values of the Democratic Party and fighting for Maine’s working people.
  • Willingness to work weekends.
  • You have access to a cell phone, laptop, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel daily within your assigned county or region.
  • Previous campaign, organizing, or community experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to work in-person within the assigned region throughout the campaign.
How to Apply

To apply, please complete this Google Form. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.

This is a full-time, temporary position through November 2026, paid at $19/hour, with overtime eligibility. This position includes a full benefits package and is part of the Maine Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign bargaining unit, represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #1837.
