The Role

Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) on Terrace West.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel; may precept student nurses and new hires.
Opportunity

Maine General Health is offering an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on Terrace West. Terrace West is a 26 bed med/surg unit with a focus on cardiac and medical patients. Nurses on this unit love the team approach and supportive decision making that foster growth and professional development.

This is a 36 hour per week position on the night shift (7p-7a). You will work three 12-hour shifts per week. Weekend and holiday rotation required.

Requirements
  • Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain in a timely fashion.
  • At least 1 year of experience preferred; new grad RNs are welcome to apply.
