Spectrum Healthcare Partner sis Maine’s largest multi-specialty, physician-owned and directed professional organization and is comprised of over 200 physicians practicing in the areas of anesthesiology, orthopaedics, pain management, pathology, radiation oncology, radiology, and vascular & interventional services. Spectrum provides services at many of Maine’s hospitals throughout the state and in eastern New Hampshire. This is a part-time 32-hour, 4-day-a-week position.
Position SummaryThe Advanced Practice Provider IIl delivers exceptional patient care and serves as first assist to orthopaedic surgeons in surgery. Additionally, provides access to patients following up from ER visits; patients seen at their PCP’s office and require an immediate appointment; and patients desiring rapid access to evaluation and management services of their acute musculoskeletal injury. As part of a multidisciplinary team provides high-quality healthcare, and support/guidance to clinic staff and physicians in designated areas.
Provides medical services under the supervision of a physician. Position requires , off hours, on-call, occassional coverage of walk-in clinic.
- Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
- Responds to telephone inquiries of patients and provides appropriate care.
- Works with the healthcare team by providing information and education.
- Practices a clinically sound continuum of care to ensure quality outcomes in an efficient and effective delivery of services.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies both regionally and nationally.
- Maintains communication with physicians and staff regarding patient care.
- Keeps abreast of current issues involving patient care or practice issues by attending and participating in department, team and practice meetings.
- Demonstrates professionalism at all times.
- Remains actively involved in continuing education with a commitment to self and departmental growth.
- Displays cooperative behavior and interacts positively and effectively with others to promote a team environment.
- Proactive in identifying, reporting and participating in the resolution of any potential or actual patient safety issues.
- Performs other duties necessary to maintain the overall efficiency and continuity of the clinic.
