RoleBehavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department Behavioral Health Suite. This position works on a per diem schedule in the Emergency Dept Behavioral Health Suite.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policy, values, and mission of the organization.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admission, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegate and communicate patient care needs to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
- Minimum of three years of acute care RN experience serving this patient population.
- Valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain one in a timely fashion.
- BLS certification; MOAB preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, problem solve, and utilize critical thinking skills.
