Job Summary
Gray Birch is seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Manager to lead our nursing team and oversee the delivery of exceptional resident care within our long‑term care unit. This leadership role is responsible for managing clinical operations, supporting and developing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and resident‑centered care.

Full‑time, Days (Mon‑Fri) - Pay: $20,000 sign‑on bonus potential for experienced nurses
- Requirements: RNs with at least one year of nursing experience, current State of Maine RN license, leadership or management experience in long‑term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Minimum commitment: 30 hours per week
- Not available to current Maine General employees or former employees separated for less than one year
- Develop and implement departmental goals, standards, and objectives that support the organization’s strategic plan and vision.
- Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
- Perform and oversee scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
- Plan and monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, contracts, and vendor relations.
- Determine and justify needs for systems, equipment, and supplies; monitor usage and maintain proper working order.
- Prepare, monitor, and evaluate the quality of patient care and coordinate services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
- Manage complaints and conflicts through to resolution.
- Current State of Maine Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous leadership or management experience in long‑term care, skilled nursing, or a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of long‑term care regulations, quality standards, and resident‑centered care practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage operations, and drive quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with residents, families, providers, and staff.
