Job Description

Position:
Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Location:

Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care, Augusta

Schedule:

Part‑time (32 hours/week)

Shift: Days (M‑F), no weekends, no holidays

What You’ll Do
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments.
  • Evaluate patient/family needs and provide appropriate support.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services.
  • Delegate duties to ancillary personnel and precept students or new hires as needed.
  • Execute patient care plans, including medication administration and symptom management.
  • Communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments.
  • Perform lab duties: blood draws, port access, IV initiation.
  • Triage patient needs and prioritize care.
  • Work closely with the oncology care team to ensure safe and effective treatment delivery.
Your Qualifications
  • Active Maine RN licensure (or ability to obtain in a timely manner).
  • Prior oncology RN experience (preferred).
  • Chemotherapy certification (preferred).
  • Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and ability to work independently.
