Overview
Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) at Maine General Health’s Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. Provide direct patient care in the ED with scope of practice aligned with RN standards and the organization’s mission. Cross‑training to the Thayer Center for Health ED in Waterville is required.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Triage and prioritize patient care based on acuity level and available resources.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patients and/or families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
- Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain in a timely fashion.
- At least 2 years of RN experience; prior/recent experience in an ER environment strongly preferred.
- Preferred certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, MOAB, TNCC.
