Lung Cancer Screening Nurse
The Lung Cancer Screening Nurse provides clinical support to the Pulmonary section and has knowledge and experience in areas of patient care practices related to the various aspects of Pulmonary Care, pulmonary function, and lung cancer screening as well as consult management. Duties include but are not limited to:
- This Registered Nurse will be a point of contact for this centralized lung cancer screening program.
- Responds to consults, confirms eligibility, and provides the patient with information regarding the screening program and counseling regarding possible findings and program requirements.
- Orders all screening CT Scans as requested by a consult from primary care or other providers; receives the radiologic reports, records the results in the database and reports to the multidisciplinary committee and primary care providers for further evaluation if needed.
- Establish and manage a lung screening database (i.e. registry) ensuring appropriate follow up for all patients in screening program.
- Delivers fundamental knowledge-based care to assigned clients while developing technical skills.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
- Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Pay:
