Job Summary

As a member of our hospice nursing team, you will play a crucial role focused on providing compassionate end‑of‑life care to patients and families, ensuring a peaceful and dignified transition.

Sign‑on bonus potential for experienced nurses. Must have at least one year of nursing experience and be able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week. The position is not available to current Maine General employees or former employees separated for less than one year.

Role:
Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) at Maine General Homecare and Hospice. This role offers a profoundly fulfilling journey where you can make a significant impact on patients and their families.

• Consult with the multidisciplinary team regularly to evaluate the patient's status and appropriateness of care, including admission, length of stay, transfer, and discharge.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, recommending additional services and referrals for community resources.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team planning to collaborate with other disciplines to determine the appropriateness of care and other services needed.

• Current license as a Registered Nurse in Maine or licensed from a compact state.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong technology/computer skills; previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
