Job DescriptionSign‑on bonus potential for experienced nurses. Must have at least one year of nursing experience and be able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week. The position is not available to current Maine General employees or former employees separated for less than one year.
Role:
Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) at Maine General Homecare and Hospice. This role offers a profoundly fulfilling journey where you can make a significant impact on patients and their families.
- Consult with the multidisciplinary team regularly to evaluate the patient's status and appropriateness of care, including admission, length of stay, transfer, and discharge.
- Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions, recommending additional services and referrals for community resources.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team planning to collaborate with other disciplines to determine the appropriateness of care and other services needed.
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in Maine or licensed from a compact state.
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong technology/computer skills; previous experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
