Job Summary:
Provides primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
Maine General Medical Center is seeking an experienced per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Emergency Department in Augusta, ME. In this role the APP will be responsible for performing front‑end, rapid evaluations of patients in conjunction with the triage nurse to facilitate care. The experienced candidate must be able to make rapid decisions about care.
Responsibilities- Perform front‑end, rapid evaluations of patients in the emergency department.
- Collaborate with the triage nurse to facilitate patient care.
- Make rapid, accurate clinical decisions regarding patient care.
- Successful completion of an accredited APP program.
- Active Maine Advanced Practitioner license.
- BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in an ED setting.
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Maine State Board of Nursing;
Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Maine State Board of Nursing.
Scheduled weekly hours:
0. Shift: 9‑hour per diem shifts.
