Position OverviewMaine General Medical Center is seeking an experienced per diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Emergency Department in both Augusta and Waterville, ME. The APP will perform front‑end, rapid evaluations of patients in conjunction with the triage nurse to facilitate care and make rapid decisions about patient treatment. This role is part of a team of 35 physicians and 2 physician assistants, operating 24/7 in a department with an annual patient volume of 58,000, on 12‑hour per‑diem shifts.
Requirements- Successful completion of an accredited APP program.
- Active Maine Advanced Practitioner license.
- BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications.
- Minimum of five years’ experience, preferably in an ED setting.
- Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Maine State Board of Nursing.
Per diem 12‑hour shifts. Scheduled weekly hours: 0; scheduled work shift: per shift basis.
