SHINE New Graduate Nurse (RN) Residency – Med/Surg is a forward‑thinking residency program that allows you to expand your knowledge and skills through a 12‑week orientation across various med/surg units, guided by high‑performing preceptors.
An early acceptance incentive of $4,000 awaits qualified SHINE candidates. Candidates must apply at least 6 weeks before graduation. The incentive is paid in full in your first paycheck as an RN.
- The med/surg clinical track involves a comprehensive 12‑week orientation across various med/surg units, guided by high‑performing preceptors.
- After this period, nurse residents can join the float pool or transition to a unit that feels like home.
- The year‑long program includes commitments to clinical training, classroom sessions, and online learning, all aimed at strengthening nursing practice and success for the New Grad RN.
- Residency positions come with full benefits.
- All residency programs are registered apprenticeships through the Maine Department of Labor.
- SHINE Residency cohorts stay together for a year, attending monthly professional growth classes led by professional development educators.
- Expected graduation from an accredited Nursing school in the Fall/Winter of 2026/2027 or less than 6 months of RN experience.
