Job Summary
Join us as a new graduate nurse (RN) as part of Maine General's SHINE Residency in the Emergency Department track. You’ll provide direct patient care aligned with professional standards and our organization’s values, contributing to Maine General Health’s mission of enhancing the health of our patients, families and communities every day.
Residency Program Overview- The Emergency Department clinical track starts with a comprehensive 12‑week orientation across various med/surg units, guided by high‑performing preceptors.
- After this period, nurse residents will work independently on med/surg for 6 weeks, solidifying their newly developed skills before transitioning to the Emergency Department to begin their specialized orientation.
- The year‑long program also includes commitments to clinical training, classroom sessions and online learning, all aimed at strengthening nursing practice and success of the new grad RN.
- Expected graduation from an accredited nursing school in the Fall/Winter of 2026/2027 or less than 6 months of RN experience.
- Maine state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or ability to obtain it after passing the NCLEX.
