Job Summary

Maine General Health is a comprehensive non‑profit system dedicated to enhancing the health of patients, families, and the community. We are seeking a Med/Surg Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for our 3 West Med/Surg Post‑Operative unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.

• 36 hours per week on a day shift (7a.m. – 7p.m.) with rotating weekend and holiday duties

• Three 12‑hour shifts per week

• Job Exempt:

• Provide basic patient care under RN supervision in accordance with scope of practice and organizational standards.
• Assist patients with emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Greet patients and visitors.
• Answer, screen, and route telephone calls.
• Call codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in patients’ physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Help maintain cleanliness, organization and restock unit and patient rooms.

• Maine Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
• (Preferred) Comfortable using a computer.
