Job Summary
Maine General is seeking a dedicated RN to join our team on 3 South, our inpatient behavioral health unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. This state‑of‑the‑art unit was designed with the input of staff and patients and is a unique environment sustaining safe, innovative, and supportive care.

Registered Nurse (RN)
Location:
Alfond Center for Health, Augusta
Schedule:
Full‑time (36 hours/week)
Shift: Nights (7p-7a)
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family, and provide education appropriate to their age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Effectively delegate and communicate patient care needs to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
- Active Maine RN license (or ability to obtain it promptly) – required.
- 1 year of RN experience – preferred.
- BLS and MOAB certification – preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment.
