Job Summary
The full‑time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) role at Maine General Medical Center involves providing primary and acute healthcare services to adults 18+ across inpatient and outpatient settings. The position requires collaboration with a team of nurses, social workers, and mental health professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute mental health disorders or medical detoxification needs.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient care on a 30‑bed unit, including shift coverage.
- Coordinate outpatient care, including medication management and psychotherapy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and monitor treatment plans.
- Document clinical findings, progress notes, and discharge summaries in electronic health record.
- Active APRN license in Maine (NP).
- Prior experience as a nurse practitioner preferred; new graduates with a passion for psychiatric mental health will be considered.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in fast‑paced environments.
- Commitment to delivering culturally competent care.
40 hours per week with weekday inpatient coverage and weekend rotation on a 30‑bed inpatient unit.
