Need 1 more CRNA for the VA hospital in Augusta, Maine | long-term full-time position with great pay | $260/hr. | any state license | New graduates accepted

Begin on/around 1 Jun 2025 (with the understanding CRNAs may have longer notice periods to current employment)

5-year contract, likely continuing on after that.

Note:

The duration of the contract is between the government and us. Like any other job, if life means you must leave, you give us a 60-day notice.

• $260/hr. for standard M-F hours. 1099, all inclusive.
• $300/hr overtime
• $35/hr. on-call (from home) – phone consultations count for pay
• $300/hr. call-back (1hr minimum paid)
• If called in, you get call-back rate plus on-call pay for those hours.
• We cover Med Mal (claims made + tail)

• M-F 6:30am – 3:00pm
• On-call: 3:00pm – 6:30am (no post-call day off)
• Call from home (or may stay in the facility’s call quarters). Response time: 15min by phone, on-site 30 min.
• Call-back frequency:
  Per the contracting officer “uncommon to be called back”, “It is very rare that CRNAs get called back”
• Call schedule is split equally between 4 CRNAs (2 contract, 2 perm), so typically 1 weekend per month and 1+ weekday per week.
• 1 CRNA and 1 physician anesthesiologist on-call simultaneously (both come in for cases)

Schedule is made by facility 1 month in advance. Request preferred time-off at least 60 days out. When starting, let us know your already planned absences, and they will be honored.

• Four (4) ORs and one (1) endo suite. When department is fully staffed, 2 ORs and endo suite is utilized)
• Typical case load is 3-8 cases per room
• Types of procedures:
  Urology, ortho, GI endoscopy, eye, ENT, Foot, GYN, hands, General, minor vascular (No cardiac, neuro, transplants, trauma)
• Team model - physician anesthesiologist present for GA induction, they don’t push your meds, they are available if needed during case, emergence, etc.
• Preferred for CRNAs to be proficient in nerve blocks (not a requirement)
• Department staff:
  Two (2) VA CRNAs, 3 physician anesthesiologists

• Any unrestricted state license
• New grads accepted
• BLS, ACLS
• Able to pass background check as part of their security process

• COVID vaccine not required
• Credentialing usually 24 days or less

• This is a semi-open Gov solicitation that only a handful of companies can participate in.

• Compensation must strike a balance between great rates for CRNAs with what the Government will award. If they award less than our advertised price, we still honor it.
• Fast turnaround - proposals are due Apr 30th with award notification May 20th.
• Interested and qualified CRNAs must be submitted with the proposal;
  Part of the award process is the Government selecting their preferred CRNAs.
