The Store Team Leader assists the Store Leader, Assistant Store Leader, management team, and staff to execute store operational goals of the annual operating plan. The Team Leader makes judgments involving customers, team members, operational issues, business planning, priority setting, compliance with company policies, and all areas of the business.
Responsibilities- Staff Management and Development (30%) – Provides coaching and training to hourly employees on daily tasks, participates in recruitment and interview processes, and seeks opportunities for professional development.
- Operations (60%) – Completes day‑to‑day tasks, suggests efficiency improvements, and represents Goodwill’s Mission, Vision, and Values to internal and external customers.
- Financial Management and Reporting (10%) – Acts as a steward of resources, tracks and measures daily sales, production goals, and donations.
- Degree and Credential Requirements – None required; demonstrate capability through prior experience.
- Supervisory Expertise – Oversees work of others in a service‑related industry.
- Coaching – Provides timely guidance and effective feedback.
- Communication Skills – Articulates ideas orally, in writing, and digitally, and listens to customer needs.
- Customer Focus – Provides excellent service to internal and external customers.
- Technical Knowledge – Basic computer and Internet navigation skills.
- Results‑Oriented – Recognizes important results and takes steps to achieve goals.
- Critical Thinking – Uses judgment to evaluate solutions and approaches.
- Ethical – Adheres to procedures, maintains confidentiality, and upholds Goodwill’s values.
- Industry Expertise – Experience in a warehouse environment; knowledge of planning, inventory control, equipment maintenance, teamwork, documentation, and data entry.
Must be able to spend more than 8 hours per shift in various positions including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and using hands to grasp, carry, and lift 10–50 pounds. Must tolerate moderate noise and temperature variations.
