Beauty Advisor

Overview

The Beauty Advisor (BA) is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for all Ulta Beauty guests by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness, and completing assigned tasks. The BA supports the leadership team through performance, people, and process focus.

• Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, omni‑channel sales, and retail shrink.
• Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting and engaging, personalizing service, answering product and service questions, informing about promotions and sales, and recommending products.
• Handle customer service, sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously and assist with online orders.
• Perform makeup applications, skincare analyses, and product demonstrations to drive sales and guest experience.
• Book appointments for services and in‑store events to deliver an unrivaled guest experience while meeting sales goals.
• Stay informed about new and existing products and services, knowing ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

• Contribute to an inclusive environment that supports teammates and guests.
• Share benefits of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app with guests.
• Collaborate with managers and associates to help grow the business.
• Participate in ongoing training, including brand and category education, for continuous professional development and sales performance.

• Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Adhere to the dress code.
• Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, faced, and ensuring testers are available.
• Maintain store standards and overall cleanliness.
• Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, marketing displays, inventory procedures, and processing/unloading shipments.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention best practices.
• Execute other operational tasks as directed.

• High school diploma preferred.

• 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

• Passion for guest service and competency for selling.
• Proficiency with basic technology (e.g., Point of Sale system, Apple devices).
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Ability to troubleshoot.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
• Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, and twisting.
• Continuous or frequent lifting, carrying, or moving up to 25 lbs.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects.
