Job Description:

This is general transportation infrastructure maintenance work within the Yard Crew at Fleet Services headquarters, involving construction, repair, and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, buildings, bridges, grounds, roadways and/or other applicable infrastructure. Work includes the use of hand power tools and related heavy equipment to perform assigned duties. These positions require long hours of work under adverse conditions. Positions in this crew must have the ability to obtain a Class A CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement.

Work is performed under direct supervision.

For this position candidates must meet the following experience criteria:

* Must be 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent

* Required to work at a higher class as necessary and in accordance with required licenses and/or certification

Licensing/Registration/Certification Requirements:

* State-paid Medical examination that includes:

* a drug test

* Department's Respirator fit test

* Class C State of Maine license by first day of employment.

* Shall obtain and retain a valid Class B State of Maine license during the initial six-month probationary period.

* Ability to become a certified snow fighter within 12 months.

* Ability to obtain flagger certification within a specified amount of time.
