Position Overview
Corrections Officer position at Kennebec County Sheriff's Office, Augusta, ME. Starting wage $23.17 per hour with no experience. Training, including Academy, will be paid by the County. 3 shifts provide 24‑hour coverage at the Correctional Facility. Employees receive excellent benefits and opportunities for advancement.
ResponsibilitiesCorrections Officers ensure a high-quality correctional facility by providing care, custody and control of inmates, supervising them in their living areas and maintaining cleanliness per rules and regulations.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalency required. Must pass the Alert Test at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, Medical Form and Physical Fitness Test at Kennebec County. Successful candidates will attend an intensive 6‑week training program.
