This position is highly involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, and inspection of all types of highway electrical equipment. This includes Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) such as speed feedback signs, travel time signs, highway lighting, and traffic signals. The position ensures that all these devices get installed and repaired to Maine DOT standards. The role will spend most of the time in the field either in a bucket truck or on the ground.
The remainder of the time will be spent preparing items for installation in our shop. Additionally, some computer work will be required. The position will also plan and execute field work, clean and reset cameras, diagnose traffic signal issues, and mark out jobs for dig‑safe under a Master Electrician.
To be minimally qualified for this position, candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
- Valid current Journeyman Electrician's license.
Maine Journeyman Electrician's license as issued by the Electrician's Examining Board and a Class B Commercial Driver's License.
