Responsibilities- Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including plumbers, welders, and engineers, to coordinate projects effectively.
- Tools and Equipment: Operate and maintain various sheet metal tools and equipment.
- Quality Assurance:
Ensure that duct installations meet quality standards and project specifications. - Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and techniques in sheet metal through training and professional development.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency on the job site.
- Customer Interaction:
Interact with clients and provide information on sheet metal/ducting projects, addressing their concerns and questions. - Repairs and Maintenance:
Perform repairs and maintenance on existing ducting systems, identifying and addressing issues promptly. - Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead a team of sheet metal technicians, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and meet project objectives. - Blueprint Interpretation:
Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine the layout and specifications for sheet metal work. - Ductwork Installation:
Install and maintain HVAC ductwork systems, including ducts, vents, and fittings. - Quality Control:
Inspect completed sheet metal work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards and project specifications. - Safety Compliance:
Enforce safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring that all team members use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). - Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including materials used, hours worked, and any changes or modifications made during the project. - Training and Development:
Train and mentor junior sheet metal technicians, helping them develop their skills and knowledge in the field.
- Possess OSHA 10 certification, demonstrating knowledge of safety regulations.
- Exhibit a basic understanding of mechanical concepts and principles.
