Position

Electronics Technician 2 in the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) Business Unit. Responsible for design, engineering, integration, operation, and maintenance of electronic security services – intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command‑and‑control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers.

Responsibilities

Executes various technical tasks and responsibilities within field operations. Performs on‑site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems. Ensures functionality and reliability of technologies. Key duties include conducting site surveys, configuring hardware and software, testing systems, and providing technical support to customers.

  • Utilize and comprehend project safety plan (JHA, AHA, PFW), enforcing adherence to M.C. Dean handbook and policies.
  • Analyze and interpret drawing packages to assess constructability, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify correct charges in timesheets on projects, executing installation and maintenance activities within planned durations.
  • Track and inventory tools, conducting consistent inspections and performing inventory at the end of each day.
  • Participate in 10‑minute daily ORM meetings, ensuring team compliance with safety requirements.
  • Participate in PITCO plan creation and build‑out, executing PITCO plan to include testing to verify high quality.
  • Install system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and mounting hardware, ensuring proper grounding and adherence to NEC standards.
  • Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, network, and IT equipment.
  • Rack and stack head‑end equipment, terminate and perform cable terminations and accessories associated with industry standards.
  • Communicate consistently with MC Dean Project Teams, exhibiting dedication, punctuality, and preparedness for work.
  • Act as a collaborative teammate, providing and absorbing constructive feedback with both internal and external customers in a positive manner.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks effectively, understanding and embodying the M.C. Dean vision, mission, and values.
  • Survey and document existing field conditions, providing feedback and recommendations to the project team.

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type – Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; no clearance needed.

Education – HS diploma or GED, Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 classroom hours) or equivalent.

Required Progressive Experience
  • 4+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems with multiple customer programs.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong time‑management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license; may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle.
  • Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance with our policy.
