Residential Administrator Essential Duties
- This is a full‑time salaried position with a flexible schedule working 40‑45 hours per week with a small team of other residential administrators.
- Supervise, train and develop a team of Direct Support Professionals (DSP) staff.
- Supervise Shared Living Providers (SLP) and several adult consumers, maintaining strong relationships to stay aware of new developments and ongoing goals.
- Promote and facilitate the growth and development of MERT’s consumers by coordinating support services, including CCM/ISC, family, employment, volunteer programs, health‑related issues, and advocacy.
- Manage time and attention to detail to verify timesheets, mileage reports, support summary sheets, and other documentation to comply with agency and DHHS timelines.
- Work with other residential administrators to resolve scheduling and staff coverage issues.
- Work in consumer residences or cover shifts for scheduling or emergency call‑outs when a DSP cannot work their normal shift.
- Participate as an active member of the residential administrator team, constantly communicating consumer needs, health issues, DSP performance, and staffing vacancy issues.
- Provide support to other team members with complex issues by giving feedback and helping troubleshoot and resolve them positively.
- Maintain State of Maine and agency‑required training and certification requirements.
- Participate in the on‑call rotation with other residential administrators, including weekday after‑hours coverage and rotating weekend coverage; may handle crisis calls and shift call‑outs.
- Serve as a role model for staff, consumers and the public when representing MERT in Special Olympics, consumer meetings, or recreational and professional development settings.
- Minimum 5 years related experience in the direct care field.
Must be able to show proof of highest level of education completed, pass a thorough background check, have current CRMA and DSP certifications. Must have a personal vehicle that seats four comfortably and is available 24/7, and live within a 15‑minute radius of Bangor to respond to urgent issues that may arise in the evenings, overnight, weekends or holidays. Familiarity with Section 21 and Section 29 Maine Care and Medicare regulations is a plus.
This position reports directly to Mary Rush, Executive Director.
