Job SummaryThis position is responsible for transporting passengers to their destination within a defined mileage radius from the operations center. The role is located in Sagadahoc, Knox, Waldo & Lincoln Counties. The schedule ranges from Monday to Saturday, 4:00AM – 8:00PM EST and offers part‑time and full‑time opportunities.
Responsibilities- Operate vehicle safely and responsibly, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Transport passengers to and from medical facilities and/or home in a timely manner.
- Familiarize yourself with designated routes and use maps or GPS to navigate efficiently.
- Regularly inspect the vehicle for maintenance needs; keep the vehicle clean at all times.
- Complete a mechanical checklist at the start of each shift and report any mechanical problems to management.
- Enter daily trip sheets for each transport.
- Ensure all required permits, licenses, and documentation are up-to-date.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism with all passengers.
- Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory standards for driving and vehicle safety.
- Attend information systems security trainings and report security problems.
- Participate in other projects or duties as assigned.
- High school diploma required; equivalent combination of education and/or experience acceptable.
- Zero (0) or more years of experience.
- Valid driver's license for the appropriate vehicle type.
- Clean driving record with no history of major traffic violations or accidents.
- In‑depth knowledge of navigating the local area to use the safest and most efficient routes.
- Excellent driving skills with ability to handle various road and weather conditions.
- Customer‑service oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and schedules.
- Physical fitness and stamina for long hours of driving, if applicable.
- Lifting up to 50lbs.
- Bending, twisting, crouching, and reaching overhead and laterally.
- Providing members with additional assistance as needed.
- Pushing/pulling a loaded wheelchair up to 300lbs.
$17–$25 per hour.
