- Safely operate a school bus to transport students to and from school and school-related activities.
- Enforce bus rules to maintain student discipline and report any violations or incidents.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, schedule and report maintenance needs, and keep the bus clean.
- Complete required reports and ensure students are picked up and dropped off at authorized stops in compliance with school policies and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of Maine Motor Vehicle laws.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations pertaining to school buses and drivers.
- Ability to maintain order and discipline on the bus.
- Ability to communicate and work in a positive manner with staff and pupils.
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and adjustments to bus.
- Ability to lift independently objects weighing up to 70 pounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 21 years of age or older.
- No criminal or driving violations.
Maine Class B Motor Vehicle Operator's License with passenger and school bus endorsement.
