Position Summary
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to build a long-term career in accounting and finance. The Staff Accountant will support the month-end close process, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with financial reporting while gaining exposure to all aspects of the accounting function.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare and maintain account schedules and supporting documentation.
- Analyze financial data and investigate account variances.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
- Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Prepare sales and use tax filings and other regulatory reports as assigned.
- Assist with annual audits by gathering supporting documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- 0–2 years of accounting experience (internship experience welcomed).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Internship or entry-level accounting experience.
- Exposure to manufacturing, agriculture, distribution, or industrial environments is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Net Suite, SAP, or similar ERP systems is preferred but not required.
