Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Financial Manager, the Plant Accountant will perform accounting and reporting duties, such as day-to-day transactions, Month-End preparation, preparation of financial statements, various account analyses, preparation of SOX compliance documents.
We are looking for a high-quality individual to fill this position at our Aurora, Colorado plant.
Position Responsibilities- Generate and quantify cost savings opportunities, and support the plant management team with the implementation of cost reduction initiatives
- Prepare various Journal Entries
- Perform Accounts Reconciliations
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly/quarterly/annual plan and forecast reporting
- Process plant payroll on a weekly basis
- Assist the Operation’s team on CIP tracking
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis
- Support Annual Physical Inventory
- Assist Controller and Accounting Team with external auditors as needed
- Assist the Plant Controller with cost analysis
- Other general accounting tasks
- Special projects as assigned
- Provide input to Controller in preparation of monthly forecast.
- Fixed Asset accounting; G/L, reconciliations, Journal entries, variances, transactions, physical inventories, accounting schedules, tracking, etc., related to Fixed Assets.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of the Accounting Cycle, Journal Entries, Reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail
- Good inter-personal skills in a Team environment
- Strong abilities to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Must be proactive and self-starter
- Cost Accounting knowledge
- Experience in Job Boss or similar software
- CMA, CPA or other professional certification
