The Controller serves as a key financial leader within IME, overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of the company's financial reporting processes. This role partners closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making, financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and organizational growth.
What You'll DoKey Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Accounting Department.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Develop, analyze, and interpret accounting and financial information to evaluate organizational performance, profitability, and operational effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and financial accuracy.
- Prepare reports that communicate the company's financial position, operating results, and future outlook to executive leadership.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
- Monitor and report on performance against budget and forecast expectations.
- Analyze revenue, labor, project costs, financial commitments, and operating trends to identify risks and opportunities.
- Develop financial models and operational analyses to support business planning and decision-making.
- Provide recommendations related to resource allocation, budgeting strategies, and financial performance improvements.
- Assist with the development, tracking, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs).
Construction Financial Oversight
- Maintain a strong understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project financial performance.
- Partner with operational leaders to evaluate project profitability and financial outcomes.
- Review contracts, leases, financial commitments, and obligations to assess business and financial impact.
- Support the analysis of labor productivity, project costs, and operational efficiencies.
Leadership & Strategic Partnership
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives and business objectives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations that support informed business decisions.
- Support the execution and communication of the organization's overall financial strategy.
- Establish financial objectives, policies, and procedures that align with organizational goals.
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
