Property Tax Analyst

• Support general functions of the Property Tax practice, including property tax assessment notice and tax bill processing, mail handling, and scanning
• Perform independent research and analytical reviews
• Maintain software databases to ensure database and report integrity
• Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities
• Interact with taxing jurisdictions to verify assessment, tax bill, and deadline information
• Monitor compliance and filing requirements with staff and management
• Receive, identify, and sort incoming mail daily
• Batch tax documents for scanning and transmission to India resources where applicable
• Process tax bills and assessments timely
• Coordinate outgoing mail, including certified and return receipts, postage, proof-of-mailer logs, and delivery to post office or courier
• Scan and archive proof of mailers in the Property Tax system of record
• Assemble tax return packages when necessary
• Assist with board hearing preparation by copying, collating, and binding presentation documentation
• Research asset ownership structures, title policies, jurisdictional tax policies, property re-parceling, and tenant escalation billing issues
• Build knowledge of property tax jurisdictions, tax bill deadlines, appeal deadlines, and statutory deadlines
• Coordinate jurisdictional data requests to meet statutory deadline requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High-school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma required
• General knowledge and ability to understand a tax calendar desired
• Desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
• Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research
• Experience with Salesforce preferred
• Valid driver’s license required

Demonstrates strong analytical and research skills in property tax assessment and compliance, with proficiency in database management and effective communication with clients and tax authorities. Capable of managing multiple tasks in a high-energy team environment while ensuring timely processing of tax documents.
