Construction Safety Manager / Owner’s Representative

Location: Multiple Campus Project Sites

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Schedule: 5 Days / 40 Hours Weekly

Position Summary

ISS is seeking an experienced Construction Safety Manager / Owner’s Representative to support multiple active clients’ data center construction projects. This role serves as the site-level Health & Safety representative for the client’s Construction Manager. It is responsible for monitoring, assessing, and measuring General Contractor adherence to the client’s Health & Safety standards and project safety management requirements.

The selected candidate will oversee safety performance across several concurrent projects and construction environments, including OptDC builds, Modular Data Centers, and remediation work within existing data center facilities. The position requires strong relationship-building skills, professional communication, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-visibility construction environments.

This position requires frequent movement between multiple project locations, including several sites located on the same campus.

  • Serve as the project site-level representative for Construction Management (Owner’s Representative)
  • Conduct daily observation, assessment, analysis, and measurement of construction work activities within GC-controlled construction zones
  • Monitor and evaluate GC’s implementation and adherence to the client’s Health & Safety Standards and Safety Management Systems
  • Perform regular site walks and safety inspections across multiple active projects
  • Participate in daily coordination meetings, safety meetings, and leadership discussions
  • Prepare professional safety reports, observations, corrective action documentation, and project updates
  • Identify safety trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and communicate findings to project leadership
  • Develop strong working relationships with contractors, subcontractors, client representatives, and project stakeholders
  • Support a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and professional communication
  • Review and monitor construction activities for compliance with applicable regulations, client standards, and industry best practices
  • Utilize Procore for project documentation and safety reporting activities
  • Manage priorities across multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
Required Qualifications Education & Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (4-year) or Advanced Technical Degree in:
  • Health & Safety Management
  • Construction Management
  • or related safety discipline

AND

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience implementing Health & Safety management programs within:
  • Technology-related construction environments

OR

  • Minimum of five (5) years of Health & Safety management experience in industrial, civil, or technology-related construction sectors instead of a degree
Preferred Qualifications
  • CHST or CSP certification strongly preferred
  • Experience with:
  • ISO 45001
  • OHSAS 18001
  • ANSI Z10
  • Data center construction experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Owner’s Representative safety oversight roles
  • Professional presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships across all organizational levels
  • Big-picture thinker with strong attention to detail
  • Team-oriented with a coaching and mentoring mindset
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced construction environments
