The hiring range for this position is $24.07 - $30.09/hourly

* OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENTWater Locator identifies and marks City of Aurora’s infrastructure with accuracy of locate request in accordance with tier 1 requirements and state law.

Aurora Water is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the drinking water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage systems, treatment of drinking water and non-potable reclaimed wastewater for irrigation, billing and collection, public outreach and water conservation, acquisition and development of future water rights, major capital projects programs, and quality control for regulatory compliance and public health.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Use mobile tablet to receive, document and close out excavation notices.
* Read and interpret utility maps / prints to identify the type and size of underground utilities.
* Effectively communicate with excavators, utility reps, and company personnel, regarding underground facilities.
* Operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark under-ground facilities within prescribed accuracy limits.
* Provide accurate documentation and or sketches related to all locates completed.
* Receive and respond to excavation notices in accordance with established time requirements.
* Operate company vehicle in a safe manner and maintain professional appearance.
* Perform work in all weather conditions.
* Employee responsible for city owned vehicle/equipment.
* Thoroughly read emails, checking emails/text messages often, acknowledge and follow up on emails that are sent to you.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
** An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.

*** A One-year related experience, or an equivalent combination of construction knowledge.
