Oral Surgery Assistant
Salary Range $24.00 - $29.00 Hourly Position Type FT2
Position PurposeJoin a growing oral and maxillofacial surgery practice as a Surgical Technician/Oral Surgery Assistant. This role supports the surgeon during consultations and procedures while delivering high-quality pre- and post-operative patient care. Ideal for a detail-oriented professional who values teamwork, patient safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the surgeon during procedures; seat patients and take vitals
- Monitor anesthesia and ensure completion of consents and treatment plans
- Provide clear pre-operative and post-operative instructions
- Obtain and track medical clearances
- Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, and radiation safety standards
- Take diagnostic radiographs using proper exposure and positioning
- Accurately document patient care in the EMR
- Prepare, clean, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Deliver a calm, professional, and positive patient experience
- Collaborate effectively with providers and team members
- Support additional projects as needed
- CPR Certification (required)
- Oral & Maxillofacial Assisting or Dental Assistant Certification (preferred)
- Hepatitis B Vaccination & Titer
- TB Vaccination & Titer
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced surgical environment
