Del Mar Academy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instructional and behavioral support to students in a mild/moderate needs setting. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, you will:

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student IEPs
• Manage a classroom caseload of 20–25 students
• Work collaboratively with paraprofessional support staff
• Provide academic interventions and tutorial assistance
• Consult with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
• Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized student programs

This role is ideal for educators who thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about supporting diverse learners.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)
• Valid state teaching certificate as required by district/state regulations
• One year of teaching experience preferred
• Preferred certifications:
• Standard Elementary Teaching
• Standard Secondary Teaching
• Standard Special Teaching
• Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
• Compliance with all professional standards of practice
• Current CPR certification (if applicable)
• TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
• Current health certificate (per state or contract requirements)
• Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
