Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy. This teaching-focused role will dedicate approximately 70-80% effort to academic responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. The faculty member will contribute to the Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum through course instruction, redesign, and leadership. The faculty member will also serve as a course director or series lead, and mentor Academic Fellows, Teaching Assistants, and Residents in the Colorado Pharmacy Residency Teaching Certificate Program.
The successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities that support teaching and course development to contribute to the continuous improvement of pharmacy education. Service responsibilities will include serving on major committees and task forces that focus on curriculum and educational initiatives.
Initially, the position will emphasize teaching, service, and professional development within SSPPS. A clinical practice component of up to 20% effort may be added in the future based on the faculty member's area of expertise and clinical contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach in the Doctor of Pharmacy program, including lectures, active learning, and student mentoring/advising.
Lead or co-lead a group of faculty members in the development of a course series focused on practice readiness and serve as a course director or co-director for required courses.
Mentor Academic Fellows and Pharmacy Residents in didactic education and teaching programs.
Engage in scholarly work on educational research or teaching and learning, including publications, presentations, and grant efforts.
Contribute to professional service through committee work, professional organizations, and participation in conferences and seminars.
Provide clinical care services and provide quality teaching within clinical practice once an appropriate clinical practice site is determined.
Faculty Series Information:
This position will be appointed in the Clinical Teaching faculty series. This series emphasizes teaching excellence and service to the School and does not include tenure eligibility.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Assistant Professor:
Pharm
D Degree.Have or be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Colorado.
Associate Professor:
Pharm
D Degree.Have or be eligible for pharmacist licensure in Colorado.
Record of scholarship, teaching, and service sufficient to be appointed as an Associate Professor in the Skaggs of School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous academic experience.
Previous experience in course development and course and series directing.
Previous clinical experience.
