Position Overview

We are seeking Candidates for the following role:
Before and After School Educators for the  school year, starting in August 2026. This position is a part-time split‑shift schedule at two of our before and after-school locations within the Aurora School District.

Position Details
  • Position Schedule (Part‑Time / Split‑Shift):
    Monday‑Friday 6:15 am‑7:45 am and 2:15 pm‑6:00 pm. Must be able to work before and after Monday through Friday.
  • Start Date:

    August 2026.
  • Location Sites:
    Meadow Community School, 9150 Monroe St., Thornton, Colorado 80229, and Achieve Academy, 9100 Poze Blvd., Thornton, Colorado 80229.
  • No weekends.
  • Starting Wage: $20 per hour (based on education and years of experience in a licensed childcare group setting).
Experience / Educational Requirements
  • 18 years old and a High School Graduate or GED.
  • Must CURRENTLY reside in the surrounding areas.
  • Required availability:
    Part‑time Monday‑Friday (2:45 pm‑5:45 pm); no weekends.
  • Start Date:

    Immediately.
  • State Licensing Requirement:
    Verifiable experience of 460 hrs supervising 4 or more children in a licensed childcare group setting, with children in the kindergarten‑6th grade range; or 40 hr training/coursework approved by the department.
  • Provide a letter from a licensed childcare type facility showing at least 460 hours of supervising school‑age children (kindergarten‑6th grade) and three professional references that will be verified if hired.
Responsibilities
  • Organize program materials for lessons and activities, and document attendance, incidents, and other observations.
  • Deliver our dynamic daily curriculum to engage children in academic and social character building that expands school‑day learning in a meaningful way.
  • Using coursework training and in‑person training, model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety, well‑being, and attention of all children while supporting homework completion, leading fun fitness activities, and guiding children at play.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills with children, parents, staff, and school personnel.
  • Meet regularly with the Program Manager regarding professional progress and team accountability.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship‑building skills.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • At least one year or 460 verifiable hours of experience working with school‑age children under 13 years of age.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs (or 40 lbs).
  • Drive to inspire a love for learning and commitment to healthy living.
  • Flexibility to support additional local programs as needed.
  • Experience working with children under 13 years of age is a PLUS.
  • College credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or a related field is preferred, not required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma/GED required.
  • 18+ years of age.
  • Ability to meet state‑specific requirements: LIVE Scan Fingerprint, Mandated Reporter training, Health Certificate / Cleared TB, CPR / FA.
  • Ability to meet state‑specific requirements (other than the above), as required.
