Qualifications:

• Hold an EIPA 4.0 certification or higher
• Previous experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments, especially with elementary students
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and interpreting for varied learning needs
• Strong sense of professionalism, reliability, and adaptability in fast-paced school settings
• Capable of building effective rapport and trust with students, staff, and families
• Comfortable with on-site work exclusively

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpretation for an elementary-aged student during school hours
• Accurately interpret classroom instructions, peer interactions, and school activities to ensure full participation and comprehension
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to tailor interpreting strategies to individual needs
• Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging classroom experience
• Maintain confidentiality and observe best practices per educational and privacy guidelines
