Position Summary
Part‑time, federally funded position located in Colorado. The Regional Special Education Facilitator (Northern Front Range) works with school administrators at the building level to improve outcomes for students with disabilities through facilitation of IEP and related special‑education meetings. The facilitator covers the Northern Front Range region, resides within the area, and is a member of the Dispute Prevention and Assisted Resolution (DPAR) Workgroup.
MajorDuties and Responsibilities
- Impartial facilitation of IEP meetings and related special‑education meetings, as requested by schools or families.
- Support regional facilitation training and presentations as part of the DPAR Workgroup.
- Collaborate with school administrators to improve special‑education processes and outcomes.
- Attend regional meetings, trainings and professional development sessions.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with state and federal regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in special education, social work, dispute resolution or a related field.
- Five to seven years of experience in special‑education professional development, training, teaching, or related roles.
- In‑depth knowledge of the special‑education process and legal requirements.
- Experience in conflict management and resolution.
- Ability to remain neutral and process‑focused in contentious situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word) and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams).
- Willingness to travel 50% within Colorado; 50% may include outdoor, overnight travel.
- Completion of a three‑day Special Education Facilitator training.
- Prior experience facilitating IEP and related special‑education meetings.
- Must submit to pre‑screening and pass a background check.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license required; must operate a motor vehicle or State of Colorado fleet vehicle as necessary.
- Work an extended schedule as needed and report to location per business needs.
- Must be willing to travel within Colorado (50%) and may require overnight travel.
- Evidence of eligibility for federal funding acknowledgment required.
