Sr. Assistant Dean of Academic Operations (Administrative Faculty Appointment)
Position hosted by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, College of Nursing, Office of Academic Programs. The role is for an administrative faculty appointment at rank of Associate Professor or Professor with dedicated release time.
Job SummaryLead the integration of technological systems and academic workflow processes, collaborate with faculty and leaders, oversee teaching assignments, and supervise staff in the Office of Academic Programs.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee use of TAMs, InPlace, and other systems to improve workflow and efficiencies in operations.
- Develop and monitor metrics for evaluating curriculum effectiveness, student outcomes, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with Associate Dean, Assistant Deans, Division Chairs on course scheduling and faculty workload assignments.
- Prepare OAP‑related reports and provide data for internal and external reporting.
- Participate in teaching activities and serve as role model.
- Communicate project progress, resource allocations, and challenges to stakeholders.
- Utilize TAMS to ensure accuracy of teaching assignments and workload reporting.
- Organize IT and databases to streamline program work.
- Provide oversight of staff and collaborate on personnel functions with Nursing HR.
- Directly supervise staff positions (Undergraduate Program Manager, Graduate Program Manager, Instructional Design Specialists, OAP Systems Support Specialist, Compliance Specialist).
- Engage in additional duties delegated by Associate Dean (summary is not exhaustive).
Minimum
- Earned doctorate (or bachelor’s/master’s for nursing) from an accredited institution, and Board of Nursing‑compliant.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, collaborative collegiality, and scholarship.
- Experience in administrative faculty appointment or academic leadership.
- Experience in curriculum development, teaching, and mentoring diverse students.
- Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license in Colorado.
- Two years of experience in administrative faculty or academic leadership.
- Experience supervising professional staff.
- Experience with regulatory, accreditation, and certification compliance.
- Experience with national academic reporting.
Annual salary range: $115,000–$150,000 (depending on rank). Benefits include dental, vision, disability, life, 401(a) with 10% employer contribution, paid time off, vacation days, sick days, holiday days, tuition benefit, and ECO Pass.
