Job Summary

University of Colorado Anschutz – College of Nursing, Office of Academic Programs. The position is Sr. Assistant Dean of Academic Operations, an administrative faculty appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor or within the IRC‑Instructional Series. The Sr. Assistant Dean leads integration of technological systems and academic workflow processes and collaborates with college leaders to advance strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team responsible for academic workflow processes that support the Office of Academic Programs and the college.
  • Oversee use of TAMs, InPlace, and other systems to improve workflow and efficiencies.
  • Develop and monitor metrics for evaluating the efficacy and efficiency of curricula, programs, and clinical experiences.
  • Develop and monitor metrics for evaluation of student outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean, Assistant Deans, and Division Chairs in planning course schedules and faculty workload assignments.
  • Serve as ex‑officio member on designated faculty committees.
  • Prepare Office of Academic Programs related reports and provide data for other units’ reports.
  • Participate in teaching within the College of Nursing and serve as a role model for professional and educational excellence.
  • Define goals, objectives, and deliverables for process improvement to ensure efficient operations.
  • Utilize TAMS (course assignment software) to ensure accuracy of teaching assignments and workload reporting.
  • Organize the use of information technology and corresponding databases to streamline work of the Academic Programs unit.
  • Provide oversight and direction for staff professional positions in collaboration with the Human Resources Team.
  • Manage direct supervision of multiple staff positions, including program managers, instructional design specialists, systems support specialists, and compliance specialists.
  • Engage in other activities delegated by the Associate Dean of Academic Programs.
Work Location

Hybrid: eligible for a schedule of three days per week on campus and as needed for in‑person meetings.

Salary Range
  • Associate Teaching Professor: $115,000 – $130,000 annually (1.0 FTE)
  • Teaching Professor: $130,000 – $150,000 annually (1.0 FTE)
  • Associate Professor (Tenure Eligible): $120,000 – $140,000 annually (1.0 FTE)
  • Professor (Tenure Eligible): $140,000 – $170,000 annually (1.0 FTE)
Qualifications
  • Associate Teaching Professor: Bachelor’s degree in nursing; earned doctorate in related field; record of teaching effectiveness and scholarship; experience in administrative faculty appointment, curriculum development, mentoring; eligible for unencumbered RN license.
  • Teaching Professor: Similar academic credentials as above with emphasis on mastery in teaching and scholarly work; experience in administrative faculty appointment and curriculum development; eligible for RN license.
  • Associate Professor (Tenure Eligible): Research doctorate; extensive publication record; administrative faculty experience; grant writing experience; eligible for RN license.
  • Professor (Tenure Eligible): Research doctorate; substantial scholarship; leadership in professional organizations; grant funding track record; administrative experience; eligible for RN license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Two years in an administrative faculty role; experience supervising staff; regulatory, accreditation, and certification compliance experience; national report submission support.
