Location:
Aurora, CO (Sundays in-person; weekdays can be remote)
Hours:
approx. 10-12 hours/week
Reports To:
Senior Pastor
The part-time EM Pastor/Director is responsible for the primary spiritual feeding and pastoral care of the English-speaking congregation. The focus of this role is high-quality Sunday preaching and the intentional discipleship of a core group of leaders.
Primary Responsibilities- Sunday Worship & Preaching (Approx. 7-8 hours/week)
- Prepare and deliver gospel-centered sermons for the weekly Sunday EM service.
- Oversee the order of worship and collaborate with the praise team/volunteers.
- Be present on Sundays for "lobby time" to welcome newcomers and engage with the congregation.
- Discipleship & Leadership Development (Approx. 2-3 hours/week)
- Lead a weekly or bi-weekly discipleship group (e.g., Small Group leaders or a Core Team).
- Mentor 1-2 emerging leaders through one-on-one meetings.
- Provide curriculum or topical guidance for EM small groups.
- Pastoral Care & Admin (Approx. 1 hour/week)
- Provide urgent pastoral counseling and prayer as needed (via phone, video call, or in-person) or be able to connect congregants to resources if unable to directly support.
- Maintain regular communication with the Senior Pastor and Korean Ministry (KM) staff regarding church-wide alignment.
- Submit weekly announcements or bulletin content for the EM to the media team.
- Education:
Currently enrolled in or graduated from an accredited Seminary (M.Div preferred). - Cultural Competency & Heart for the Diaspora:
An understanding of the Korean-American experience and a calling to serve the second-generation Korean-American community. - Communication:
Strong oratorical skills and the ability to use digital platforms (e.g., Slack, Kakao Talk, iMessage, e-mail, etc.) effectively for a part-time schedule. - Language:
Fluency in English is required; conversational Korean (or a strong willingness to learn) is preferred but not required for communication with the KM. - Self-Starter:
Since this is part-time, the candidate must be highly organized and able to manage their time without daily on-site supervision.
