Acquisitions and Collections Analysis Librarian-Instructor

The Acquisitions and Collections Analysis Librarian leads the library's acquisitions, collection budget management, and collection assessment activities, with a focus on data-informed decision-making and sustainable collection strategies. This position oversees continuing resources expenditures, vendor negotiations, and collection analysis while collaborating closely with department colleagues on lifecycle management of electronic resources.

The Acquisitions and Collections Analysis Librarian reports to the Head of Collection Management. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing the work of students, volunteers, or other staff on committee work, specific projects, or as requested.

University of Colorado Anschutz Health Sciences Library faculty members serve as promotion eligible, non-tenure track faculty.

The Acquisitions and Collection Analysis Librarian is expected to assume personal responsibility for designing and implementing a plan for continuing professional development, and to actively contribute to their profession through scholarly and service activities.

Work location is hybrid, eligible for a schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

The Strauss Health Sciences Library links people, reliable health sciences knowledge, and technology in support of effective learning, quality health care, vital research, and engaging community service. The library's collections and resources including facilities are available to University of Colorado students, faculty, and staff, Colorado health care practitioners, and members of the public expressing information needs.

Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in library and/or information science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited or equivalent accrediting body program at time of hire. Preferred qualifications include experience in acquisitions, budgeting, or collection development in an academic or health sciences library, experience in reviewing and negotiating license agreements/contracts in an academic library, experience with a Library Services Platform (LSP), such as ExLibris Alma, experience working with acquisitions and/or funds management modules in an LSP, experience working with a university finance system for processing payments and/or monitoring collections budget, demonstrated experience with data analysis and reporting, experience with e-resource renewals and/or life cycle, and familiarity with COUNTER usage metrics.

The starting salary range for this position has been established as $73,923 to $86,490.64.
