- Denver campus is seeking an experienced Sonographer to serve as Clinical Coordinator and Lab Instructor. Faculty at Concordia University, St. Paul work as members of an academic team of full- and part-time colleagues to consistently deliver high-quality instruction to students. Faculty are expected to demonstrate innovation and excellence in course instruction, foster an atmosphere of active intellectual and creative engagement with students in and out of the classroom, and support the Christian mission of the university.
With students at the center of the university’s mission, delivering a high-quality student experience is a top priority of the Concordia learning community. The clinical coordinator is responsible for coordinating clinical education with didactic education as assigned by the program Director. Clinical education effectiveness must be evaluated and ensured through a schedule of regular check-ins with the clinical affiliate. The clinical coordinator is responsible for advising program students and must follow program and university policies and procedures.
The clinical coordinator must have documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance, and educational theories and techniques as well as maintain current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development.

- Total Compensation: $800 per credit (Teaching up to 12 credits per semester at $800 per credit, totaling up to $9,600 per semester. The total compensation will vary based on the number of courses offered for the position.)
- Arrange assignment of students with clinical sites.
- Coordinate new student orientation to all clinical affiliates.
- Maintain accurate attendance records for students.
- Confer with clinical instructors and staff sonographers throughout the semester regarding progression and evaluation of students and discuss clinical matters and problems (email, phone, Zoom, and site visits when warranted).
- Maintain clinical records through the online clinical management system.
- Review student clinical exam logs to ensure JRC-DMS accreditation standards are met.
- Facilitate quality student learning through teaching assigned courses.
- Increase course engagement by providing a positive presence and engaging students through course activities and ongoing availability to provide student support.
- Provide substantive and timely feedback on course assessments, following academic unit and university guidelines, within the Learning Management System, typically within five business days of the assessments’ due dates.
- Respond to student inquiries typically within 24 hours during business days unless otherwise specified at the college level (48 hours on weekends, with closer monitoring if assignments are due during the weekend or on Monday).
- Work collaboratively in a supportive academic environment, partnering with academic advising, career development, and the academic team to ensure each student has the resources they need to succeed.
- Follow the university and academic unit’s policies and procedures.
- Assist in curriculum development and revision.
- Assign final grades for clinical and didactic courses each semester.
- Attend program faculty meetings and advisory committee meetings regularly to discuss goals and direction.
