Head Coach (Part-Time)Location:
We are hiring for the following locations within Aurora Public Schools:
Escuela Bilingue Betty Benavidez Elementary
Sable Child Development Center
Reports To:Area Director
ScheduleEscuela Bilingue Betty Benavidez Elementary:
Mon-Fri: 6:30AM-7:40AM and 2:30PM-6PM
Sable Child Development Center:
Mon-Thurs: 7AM-9:15AM and Fridays: 7AM-6PM (Fridays will be located at Escuela Bilingue Betty Benavidez)
$25-30/hour, based on experience
Position OverviewThe Head Coach serves as the leader of an after-school program site, creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children. This hands‑on leadership role combines youth development, staff supervision, program operations, and relationship building with families and school partners.
The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about helping children build confidence, resilience, and life skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership
- Lead daily program operations and ensure a positive experience for students.
- Facilitate engaging enrichment, academic support, recreation, and character‑building activities.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment.
- Manage student attendance, transitions, and dismissal procedures.
Team Development
- Supervise and support site staff.
- Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to team members.
- Lead staff meetings and promote a positive team culture.
Family & School Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with students, families, and school personnel.
- Communicate program updates, successes, and student needs.
- Represent the organization professionally within the school community.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate program records and documentation.
- Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns.
- Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in education, childcare, youth development, recreation, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lead staff while actively engaging with children.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience working in Montessori schools is a significant plus
- 21 years old or older and must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Education or related field
- Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education and 1 year of experience working in ECE
- 30 semester credit hours in approved ECE subject areas + 6 months (910 hrs) experience
- Early Childhood Professional Credential - Level 3 or higher
- Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
