- Work in an environment full of learners
- Assist teachers with daily in‑ and out‑of‑classroom tasks such as short‑term student monitoring, helping students with class assignments, making and handing out copies, pick‑up and drop‑off supervision, etc.
- Perform active supervision duties during lunch and recess
- Cover classes when a substitute does not show up or coverage cannot be found
- Assist the testing coordinator during testing seasons
- Will work and excel in a very diverse student environment
- Perform any other duties assigned by the school administration
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic school environment
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks as directed
- Ability to stand or walk around for about an hour, as needed
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Ability to apply superb judgment
- Strong self‑starter; ability to work with limited direction
- Demonstrate an energetic and positive personality toward students, parents, and coworkers
- Follow all school policies and procedures for staff members
- Know and enforce school rules stated in the student handbook, as needed
- Dedication and commitment to work
- High school diploma
- Pass the background check
- Experience as a para educator
- Experience in schools or an educational environment
- Experience working with learners in the appropriate age group
- 1 year of para educator experience (preferred)
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
- Para educator: 1 year (preferred)
